am happy to announce to you that, this morning, Mr. President forwarded the Petroleum Industry Bill to the National Assembly,” Alison-Madueke said to journalists at the presidential villa.
The PIB Petroleum Industry Bill has been touted has the most important legislative document of President Jonathan’s administration so far, as it is expected to establish the legal and regulatory framework, institutions and regulatory authorities for the Nigerian petroleum industry; and establish guidelines for the operation of the upstream and downstream sectors, and for purposes connected with the same.
